CLIENT
Our client is well known, successful ASX listed pharmaceutical company that develops and commercialises a range of patented products for the global market. Based in Melbourne’s CBD, they continue to grow by developing and commercialising a range of products to assist with patient drug delivery.
Boasting modern facilities and state of the art laboratories, our client offers a friendly, supportive work environment and access parking as well as public transport.
ROLE
Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint a Formulation Scientist to join their Development Team. Main duties will include:
Formulation development, laboratory testing (including solubility and in-vitro permeation studies) and laboratory scale manufacture of pharmaceutical products, in particular topical products
New development opportunities through literature review and conducting experiments
Generation of data to evaluate and support intellectual property
Write and review study protocols, characterisation and formulation development reports
Support pre-clinical through to scale-up activities, which includes tasks such as conducting analysis, optimising physicochemical testing, method validation and technology transfer
REQUIREMENTS
A true team player, the ideal candidate will need to meet the following criteria:
Bachelor of Science or higher in a relevant field
Strong formulation skills in topical and/or generic products, OR experience in product development in the pharmaceutical or cosmetics industry
Adept at performing and interpreting literature searches
Excellent report writing skills, including IP protection documentation
Experience in semi-solid formulation development, HPLC experience and working in a quality system environment are all desirable
Must be a lateral and innovative thinker with a strong practical ability, with a skill set that covers for instance: Design of Experiments; Quality by Design and superior statistical methods
You will possess excellent time management skills, attention to detail and a strong ability to multi-task
Key to this role will be your flexible “can do” attitude, excellent work ethic and initiative whilst working autonomously or as part of a team
