Our client is a highly respected global company whose success is attributed to their ongoing emphasis on Innovation. A leader in the Australian and New Zealand markets, the Australian business provides automotive and industrial coatings in the Asia-Pacific region.



Due to a project, our client requires an extra pair of hands – a Chemist for approximately three months. (This could be reviewed). The successful candidate will be mainly involved in the preparation and testing of paint samples as well as some new test method development relevant to this project. This role needs someone urgently so if you apply, please ensure you can start with short notice!



Main focus of this role will be to develop new and profitable products to surpass industry equivalents while meeting and exceeding customers’ expectations of product performance and quality.

Working knowledge in the Coating’s Industry would be highly regarded as well as a degree in chemistry. We are particularly interested in candidates who are motivated and wish to prove themselves as capable chemists. The successful candidate will be a strong team player, with excellent communication skills/ customer service skills and proven good work ethic.

To be successful in your application you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or similar
  • Experience in the Coating Industry will see you get short-listed
  • Understanding of new product development would be beneficial
  • Able to set up and conduct new product trials
  • Excellent report writing skills and computer literacy
  • Excellent communication skills – you will be conducting product trials and liaising with personnel at all levels of the company
  • Able to provide timely and accurate results by following appropriate test methods
  • Must have a good eye for detail and an appreciation for safety in the workplace
  • Good time management skills and the ability to multi task
  • MUST be a good team player and reliable!
