CLIENT
Our Client, a well-known organisation with an extensive research facility based in Adelaide, is currently looking for an Experimental Physicist or Mechanical Engineer with experience working with projectiles and their impacts. Initially a 10 month Contract, with an option to extend for a further two years.
ROLE
This role will investigate the propagation of a spark to initiate fire, exploring the conditions under which fires start, studying target and impact sites during and after impacts as well as Health and Safety. As the successful applicant, you will have a Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Experimental Physics or similar and experience working on research projects in a relevant discipline
Primarily based in the laboratory this role requires an individual who can apply their knowledge of relevant theory, develop methodology and tools to study physical interactions, design and carry out key experiments, generate and collect data, analyse results and report the outcomes. Knowledge of gas guns, digital high speed video, Hopkinson Bar, drawing programs, strain gauges, VISAR, VIC 3D and propellant guns would be beneficial to this role.
