Established over 30 years ago, our client is a highly respected Melbourne based company whose success is attributed to their ongoing emphasis on innovation and customer satisfaction. A serious contender in the Industrial Chemicals market, our client provides services to customers all over the world by supplying a vast number of expert chemical formulations and technical advice in fields of Textile, Timber, Water Treatment, Agriculture, Plastic, Rubber, Surface Coating, and Food & Beverage to name some.

 

ROLE

Based in a lovely South-Eastern suburb of Melbourne, this broad role stretches from compliance for all facets of manufacturing chemicals through to Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Occupational Health and Safety of the company.

The compliance component consists of ensuring the site is maintained to ISO standards and appropriate regulatory requirements such as APVMA and NICNAS. This will include maintenance of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Product Data Sheets; conducting Risk Assessments relating to handling of chemicals according to the Dangerous Goods Act.

 

REQUIREMENTS

To be successful for this role you will have;

  • Tertiary Qualification in Chemistry or related scientific degree
  • Over 7 years’ experience in the Chemical Industry, i.e.Textile industry or similar
  • Had a similar role in a previous company
  • Experience in Quality Systems (ISO 9001:2015) and ISO audits
  • Experience in writing Risk Assessments
  • Expert knowledge of Globally Harmonised System (GHS) and regulations relating to the Chemical Industry
  • Excellent computer and research skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and persuasive skills – you will be in charge of the overall regulatory compliance and will need to ensure procedures are followed
