Lead and Influence Commercial Sales Strategy

Our client is a Global Player with manufacturing and marketing operations throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the Americas and Europe selling products in more than 100 countries around the world. The Australian business focusses on crop protection products designed to perform in Australian conditions. With an extensive network of Regional Service Centres in key agricultural areas, our client can provide excellent service to all clients regardless of their location.

 

ROLE

This newly created senior role, is based in Melbourne and reports to the National Sales Lead. With highly developed business acumen and proven account management, you will be responsible fordeveloping and delivering the Sales Strategy on a National level. This will be achieved through developing, implementing and maintaining the business strategy with a strong focus on key Channel Partners and Key Products.

Key to success in this role will be influencing and leading within the Regional Sales Management team along with a strong knowledge of the agricultural market and products.

 

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Proactively assess, clarify and validate Channel Partner requirements to drive sustainable actions that meet the company’s strategic objectives
  • Develop customised Channel Partner strategies in collaboration with National Sales Management
  • Work with Marketing to design commercially viable and outcome focussed Sales Campaigns
  • Clearly communicate the elements, objectives and timelines of various commercial initiatives to the sales team
  • Manage Key Portfolio Products and execute sales plan to deliver financial targets
  • Analyse Demand Planning data and information provided by the Sales Team and identify opportunities to resolve problems and close gaps
  • Develop and implement trading agreements with key national Channel Partners in collaboration with the National Sales Management
  • Develop, assess and implement systems and processes that enable the Sales Team to deliver and improve Channel Partner strategy
  • Align the overall business to the Channel Partner strategy by liaising and influencing internal stakeholders
  • Manage, report and assess the Advertising and Promotion spend Nationally and Regionally for Channel Partners

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

We are seeking a senior thought leader and active contributor within the Commercial Leadership Team who will actively identify and act upon opportunities, innovation and improvement initiatives.

 

To be successful, you will need to meet the following criteria:

 

  • Bachelor qualification in Business, Agriculture or related field
  •  A minimum of 8 years senior Strategic Sales experience within a business to business environment
  • Proven Account Management experience across a broad group of customers especially high volume / high value portfolios
  • Proven ability to lead by influence, build rapport and create effective working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Highly developed Business Acumen
  • Experience leading and developing a team
  • Strong knowledge of the agrichemical market and products
  • Structured approach and process driven
  • Innovative thinker
  • Ability to identify and implement ‘value adding’ systems
  • Strong communication skills
  • Well structured and organised including strong meeting facilitation skills
