Our client is a New Zealand Leader in Aquatic & Environmental Research/Analysis with a state of the art Laboratory. Based in Nelson our client has operated for more than 40 years and is TGA and ISO 17025 accredited. As well as conducting research our client is also an analytical lab, testing samples from the food industry- aquaculture samples, dairy, seafood, biotoxins etc.
The successful candidate will ensure that all chemistry instruments run efficiently and perform to specifications. You role will include maintaining & troubleshooting chemistry instruments (such as GCMS, ICP-MS, LC/MS-MS), maintaining spare parts & tools, conducting software updates and liaising with IT around software and back ups. The role will also include maintaining instrument records- performance and maintenance records as well as providing training to staff on instrument troubleshooting. You will also be managing relationships with instrument companies- dealing with servicing, invoicing, sourcing parts etc. You must have a strong health and safety focus to be successful in this role.
