CLIENT

Our client is listed on the ASX and SGX and is a specialist provider of asset intelligence services and metering solutions for essential electrical, gas and water infrastructure across the Asia-Pacific region. One arm of this multinational business, provides comprehensive oil and gas chemical testing services covering a wide variety of both routine and non-routine analyses.

Our client prides themselves on innovation, setting high industry standards and collaborating with their clients to exceed their expectations. Due to the demand for their services, they are seeking an experienced Analytical Chemist to join their Laboratories in Singapore.

 

ROLE

Our client has been undertaking chemical analysis for the utility and manufacturing industries for over 60 years and they place great stock in the integrity of their historical asset database. This history and their independence make them a leader in their field when it comes to analytical experience and the interpretation of test results. Based in Singapore, you will also be involved in:

  • Dissolved Gas Analysis (Headspace DGA)
  • Oil Colour and Appearance
  • Water Content and Acidity Interfacial tension; Sediment and Sludge
  • Dielectric Dissipation Factor
  • Volume Resistivity and Electric Breakdown Voltage
  • Monitoring of Inhibited oils
  • Particle Profile
  • Furan and Passivator Analysis (including Estimated DPv)
  • Degree of Polymerisation of paper samples
  • SF6 Gas Analysis
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of new test methodologies
  • Calibrating equipment as necessary to ensure the maintenance of all quality accreditations – especially ISO 17025
  • Providing accurate and timely data reports for analysis by various stakeholders
  • Ensuring that all work is completed in accordance with the relevant quality, workplace safety and test standards, including the application of all relevant MSDS’s

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

We are looking for a team player who is motivated and driven to meet targets and goals!

In-order to qualify for this exciting and rare opportunity, you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • A Science Degree majoring in Applied or Analytical Chemistry or similar
  • Five years of experience as an Analytical Chemist in a quality focussed testing laboratory
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of analytical instrumentation with Automatic Titrators, GCMS, LCMS, wet-chemistry and physical testing
  • Must have good eye for detail and an appreciation for safety in the work place
  • Excellent communication skills – you will be liaising with personnel of all levels of the company
  • MUST be a good team player and reliable!
  • You must be flexible in your approach and able to cope with changes in priorities.
  • High level of self-motivation and problem-solving capabillity
  • Ability to exercise individual judgement and initiative in the application of scientific principles, techniques and methods
  • Excellent time management skills, attention to detail and a strong ability to multi-task.
  • Key to this role will be your flexible “can do” attitude, excellent work ethic and initiative whilst working autonomously or as part of a team
  • Must be a Singaporean Citizen or hold relevant working rights
