Our client is a well-known and highly respected Food Manufacturer. They are part of a global, diversified international group employing over 100,000 employees worldwide. With clarity on future direction and clearly defined values, our client is one of Australia’s and New Zealand’s largest food manufacturers.
ROLE
This senior position is based in Regional Victoria. Reporting to the Operations Director, its responsible for developing, implementing and executing a Capital Strategy for the entire manufacturing site whilst ensuring that quality, cost, productivity, delivery and safety objectives are achieved and aligned to the company’s AOP and objectives.
Some of the responsibilities associated with this role include:
Developing, managing and driving the departmental budget ensuring targeted profit levels, costs and expenditure are in line with departmental forecasts
Monitoring performance of the group by continually reviewing set operational targets and Key Performance Indicators
Driving cultural change through empowering, leading and role modelling business principles and values and drive improvement in leadership and capability through effective coaching and mentoring
Supporting business growth and new opportunities by ensuring that standards, processes, structure and resources are acceptable and suitable to the business
Developing, implementing and delivering a culture of Operational Excellence aligned to business performance incorporating CI tools and techniques to achieve world’s best practices
Actively participating in the planning of budgets, capital additions and site expansion requirements with the Operations Group
Monitoring expenditure and preparing forward planning of capital projects and requirements for the future in terms of output quality and quantity, cost, time availability and labour requirements
SELECTION CRITERIA
To be successful in your application you will need to meet the following criteria:
Bachelor Degree in an Engineering discipline. Post Graduate or Masters qualifications will be highly regarded
Extensive Maintenance Management Experience
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in capital management within a manufacturing and/or heavy industry environment enabling you to develop and execute capital plans/projects
Sound understanding of manufacturing practices within a complex industrial environment to effectively plan preventative maintenance
Sound understanding of GMP compliance, manufacturing and supply chain processes
Knowledge of CI improvements tools such as Lean, Six Sigma etc.
Demonstrated effectiveness in team engagement, cultural change and process improvement
Stakeholder engagement and influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to mix professionally and build effective relationships at all levels internally and externally
Proven analytical and problem solving skills to support the team when system issues arise. You must be able to make quick decisions and put clear actions into place to proactively address problems on a daily basis
Proven experience identifying and deploying process improvements
Ability to positively support and encourage others through change
