This position is an excellent opportunity for a Technician who wishes to improve their electrical skills within a test and calibration laboratory. This is a six-month contract, working full-time hours from Monday to Friday, and has the possibility for an extension.

As a Power Technician, you will be conducting a variety of diagnostic testing and calibration services in relation to equipment used in protection, control, metering, and testing of power systems. Following familiarisation and training, you will carry out assigned duties in the calibration and test lab under the direction of a nominated supervisor.

You will be working as part of a united, trusted and dynamic team.

Selection Criteria:

  • TAFE Advanced Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or appropriate experience
  • Prior experience working in an accredited electrical calibration facility shall be highly regarded
  • Competency to troubleshoot issues with electrical instrumentation and test equipment, readily solving technical problems that may arise
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Capability to take direction then work autonomously
  • Confidence to take ownership of assigned workload and reprioritise as required
  • Commitment to working safely and responsibly
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

NOTE: there is no requirement to hold any Electrical Safety training qualification
