Listed on the stock exchange and a leader in their industry, our Client is seeking an experienced analytical chemist to join their R&D team based in Melbourne. They have a friendly and welcoming environment complete with excellent facilities and state of the art laboratory equipment. An initial six month contract is on offer with the view for extension.



This is an Analytical Chemist role within the R&D team and involves the testing of products that are required to be registered with Australian Regulatory Bodies and as such new products produced within the company must undergo the registration process and to meet the strict regulations.

The position is very hands on requiring the successful candidate to work closely with team members to perform the testing of raw materials, intermediates and finished products. Additionally you will be assisting with method development and validation for new products, analyse results and produce appropriate reports. The main analytical instruments used in this role are HPLCs and GCs with FID detectors – candidates without experience with these instruments will not be considered.



To be considered for this position, you will need to meet to following criteria:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or similar.
  • Proven experience working in a similar laboratory based setting.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience using analytical instruments especiallyHPLC and GC (with FID).
  • Experience with Shimadzu instruments will be highly regarded.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently as required, has excellent time management and record keeping skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, work ethic and a good team player is a must!
