CLIENT

Our client is a progressive and expanding company specialising in the field of precious metals refining. Their operations cover all three facets of this industry and as such their technical facilities include a laboratory, a refinery and a smelting section. As Australia’s leading independent precious metals refiner, it services the jewellery, dental and mining industries. The premises are modern and boast the latest technology in refining.

 

ROLE

Are you a graduate chemist with up to three years experience in a laboratory! Do you have a mature personality, are motivated and wish to progress your career within a great company? if you have answered “YES”, we want to hear from you!

The successful candidate will be fully trained to industry specific procedures and methods, including all instrument operation. Main duties will include sample preparation, operation of laboratory instrumentation, fire assaying and other general laboratory tasks. Some of the instruments you will be using in this role will include:

  • ICP-OES
  • MP-AES
  • AAS
  • XRF
  • Automatic titrators

 

REQUIREMENTS

To start 2016 with a wonderful and rare career opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Chemistry or similar
  • Some laboratory work experience, 1 to 3 years preferred but nor necessary
  • The ability to competently and time efficiently work with analytical procedures and other general laboratory tasks
  • A strong ability for record keeping and general organisational skills including a strong ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
  • Able to communicate to all staff in a professional, clear and concise manner including the confidence to speak up when situations call for it
  • Maturity with a high level of communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self motivated and able to manage pressure both in a team and while working autonomously
  • A desire for professional and personal growth
  • Work well in a dependant team environment
  • MUST have a good work ethic, be reliable and have current work rights in Australia
