Our client is the Defence Science and Technology Group, part of Australia’s Department of Defence. It is the second largest public-funded R&D organisation in Australia and a national leader in safeguarding Australia by delivering valued scientific advice and innovative solutions for Defence and national security.
The Weapons Propulsion Group of Weapons and Combat Systems Division which is based in Adelaide conducts research into gun propellant degradation. To support this research, a chemical testing laboratory provides the appropriate analytical services.
THE ROLE
There is a current need for a scientist with analytical chemistry skills to join The laboratory team on a contract basis.
This is an entry level role requiring one to three years experience. With tertiary qualifications in Chemistry or a related field, the successful candidate will provide analytical chemistry support to research work, and in particular with instruments such as HPLC, GC, GPC and various thermal instruments including calorimetry.

This contract is initially for ONE YEAR and subject to approval by the Commonwealth and satisfactory performance will be extended annually up until JUNE 2022.
