CLIENT

Our client is a multinational business listed on the ASX. They provide comprehensive chemical testing services covering a wide variety of both routine and non-routine analyses.

Our client prides themselves on innovation, setting high industry standards and collaborating with their clients to exceed their expectations.

Due to an internal promotion, they are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their Laboratories. With excellent training programs and the opportunity to travel overseas, this provides an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual.

 

ROLE

Initially a full-time, 12 month contract, this role involves working 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday.  You will be conducting chemical analyses of chemicals such as oils and solid materials.

The key responsibilities of this role will involve following:

  • Use of Headspace Gas Chromatography and UPLC for the testing of various materials including insulating oils
  • Physical testing of products such as oil colour and appearance
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of new test methodologies
  • Calibrating and maintaining equipment as necessary to ensure quality accreditation standards.
  • Providing accurate and timely data reports for analysis by various stakeholders
  • Ensuring that all work is completed in accordance with the relevant quality, workplace safety and test standards, including the application of all relevant MSDS’s

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

We are looking for a team player who is motivated and driven to meet targets and goals!

In-order to qualify for this exciting and rare opportunity, you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • A Science Degree majoring in Chemistry or similar
  • Some industry experience is desirable but not a must
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of analytical instrumentation such as GC and UPLC and experience with Waters Empower software is a plus
  • Experience with Karl Fischer well regarded
  • Proven experience with wet-chemistry and physical testing
  • Must have good eye for detail and an appreciation for safety in the work place
  • Excellent communication skills – you will be liaising with personnel of all levels of the company locally and overseas
  • MUST be a good team player and reliable!
  • High level of self-motivation and problem solving capability
  • Excellent time management skills, attention to detail and a strong ability to multi-task.
  • Key to this role will be your flexible “can do” attitude, excellent work ethic and initiative whilst working autonomously or as part of a team
