For over 60 years our Client has been a trusted partner in product development and contract manufacturing to the Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, Food, and Personal Care Industries. Setting the standard in reliability, quality and service, our Client supports their customers with state of the art manufacturing, cutting edge product development and world leading quality systems.

Operating over two sites, our client specialises in the contract manufacture of Therapeutics (Prescription, OTC, & Complementary medicines), Medical Devices, and Personal Care products.

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client is looking to hire an Account Manager with a technical background and qualifications, on a full-time permanent basis.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will manage commercial relationships with an allocated portfolio of customers, investigate and build business opportunities with current and potential clients and provide leadership to a team of coordinators as needed.

This role requires a customer focussed and dynamic individual to manage business relationships and service. The ideal candidate will have a science and/or manufacturing background where understanding and knowledge of products, raw material uses and manufacturing processes, will be utilised on a daily basis.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities include:

  • Build and maintain strong and effective business relationships with allocated customers
  • Maintain regular contact and develop business plans around key clients to drive growth in profitability, relationship and volume
  • Communicate customer needs to internal stakeholders – R&D, QA and Operations
  • Support New Product Development (NPD) opportunities with customers
  • Actively support contract agreements
  • Work with the costing team to develop accurate pricing for each pricing period
  • Facilitate project management activities across the business
  • Provide administrative and strategic support to the Commercial Manager

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

As this is a technical, customer focused role, to be considered for this position you must meet the following criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant science or engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferably pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, or food.
  • Demonstrated experience in a technical B2B customer focused role
  • Effective relationship building and negotiation skills
  • You will be a good listener with highly developed interpersonal skills, including exceptional oral and written communication in English
  • A demonstrated ability to manage complex workloads, set priorities and gain commitment from staff and external providers to meet deadlines
  • The ability to understand and communicate technical concepts effectively
  • Ability to build and develop exceptional rapport with external and internal stakeholders
  • Strong time and project management skills with the ability to multi-task
